Recently I had a chance to visit good old Germany on a Business trip to a city called Bad Saeckingen which is located in the very south west of Germany next to the Swiss border on the river Rhine. The city lies on the southern edge of the Black Forest area. There are two bridges which connects Bad Saeckingen in Germany with Stein in Switzerland: one vehicular (Fridolinsbruecke) and the other, the Holzbruecke pedestrian bridge and it’s definitely one of the picturesque view with river Rhine dividing the two countries.
It’s really hassle free to cross this bridge without any border checks from Germany to Switzerland and imagining if India Pakistan border could be like this and how both the countries could flourish to a greater extent. I stayed in a hotel called Goldener Knopf on German side and it simply offers fascinating views of the river Rhine from the balconies. Bad Saeckingen’s architecture and buildings were similar to Lueneburg and it brought some reminiscent of good old memories. All in all it was a great experience to remember.
Cheers,
