On the way to the south of France during the easter holidays, we had a chance to visit Geneva and Annecy. Geneva is a global city, a financial centre, and a worldwide centre for diplomacy due to the presence of numerous international organizations, including the headquarters of many agencies of the United Nations and the Red Cross. In the aftermath of World War I, it hosted the League of Nations. Geneva hosts the highest number of international organizations in the world. Annecy is a beautiful French town situated around 35kms from Geneva. Its also nicknamed as the Pearl of the French Alps. The boating in the Annecy lake with blue skies is a must and the downtown is very picturesque.
